From 01. – 03. October the Swiss Melges24 Class held their Swiss Open at Luino, Lago Maggiore.

Adam Burns from Youngstown Yacht Club, sailing USA378 Presto with co-owner and wife Lori Burns and crew James Barnash, John Goller and Jason Suitor wins the 2010 Melges 24 North American Championship, from Alan Field of Los Angeles, sailing USA811 WTF with Steve Hunt, John Hayes, Erik Shampain and Sarah Curran, while Henry Filter of Annapolis, sailing USA721 Wild Child with Ben Cesare, Ian Coleman and Todd Hiller took third place.

It may have been a grey day on the water but this evening the sun has come out and the crews are enjoying a fabulous Opening Ceremony featuring the Melges Performance Sailboats Cookout, Pusser’s Painkillers, Lake Beverage Co beer sponsored by Latis Yachting.  The teams are kicking back, relaxing and taking a chance to make new friends and catch up on all the news and gossip with old friends.

Registration is now complete and the crews are all set to go for the 2010 Melges 24 North American Championship which gets underway at the Rochester Yacht Club on Lake Ontario, tomorrow morning.

Good morning from Rochester, NY, on Lake Ontario where the Melges 24 teams are registering for the 2010 Melges 24 North Americans.

In het weekend van 16 en 17 oktober 2010 houdt de dan op te richten Benelux Melges 24 Klasse Organisatie Open Dagen. Geïnteresseerde wedstrijdzeilers kunnen die dagen op het Braassemermeer kennismaken met deze competitieve eenheidsklasse. In Europees verband zijn de startvelden groot en het niveau ligt hoog
