Tomorrow, Tuesday 31 August 2010, is the entry deadline for the 2010 Melges 24 North American Championship being hosted by the Rochester Yacht Club on Lake Ontario. With championship racing from Thursday 23 September to Sunday 26 September, a post racing keg provided by Lakeside Beverages each day and additional great party support from longtime Melges 24 sponsor Pusser’s Rum its going to be the perfect long weekend combination of serious racing and fun relaxation.

The Czech Nationals took place at a brand new marina of YC Kovarov on Lake Lipno, from August 19th till 22nd. The summer weather allowed racing on Thursday and Saturday only, though delivering 8 nice races with dramatic action throughout.

There are several top notch rental boats still available for the 2010 Norwegian Open Championship, which is being sailed from Friday 3 to Sunday 6 September on the same waters and from the same venue as the 2011 Melges 24 European Championship

We’re now about two thirds of the way through the 2010 Melges 24 World and Continental Ranking Series and in the World Ranking Flavio Favini of Italy currently leads fellow Italians Lorenzo Bressani and Riccardo Simoneschi.

If you are looking for a great end of season regatta in Europe why not join the French Class for the 2010 French Melges 24 Open Championship which is to be held in conjunction with the Novembre A Hyeres Regatta in Hyeres, France from 11-13 November.
